The MacPorts Project Official Homepage

The MacPorts Project is an open-source community initiative to design an easy-to-use system for compiling, installing, and upgrading either command-line, X11 or Aqua based open-source software on the Mac operating system. To that end we provide the command-line driven MacPorts software package under a 3-Clause BSD License, and through it easy access to thousands of ports that greatly simplify the task of compiling and installing open-source software on your Mac.

XPort for Mac Download - xPort - recover, copy, transfert and save iPod songs from iPod to computer.

We provide a single software tree that attempts to track the latest release of every software title (port) we distribute, without splitting them into “stable” Vs. “unstable” branches, targeting mainly macOS Sierra v10.12 and later (including macOS Catalina v10.15). There are currently 23310 ports in our tree, distributed among 89 different categories, and more are being added on a regular basis.

MacPorts Meeting 2019

We are organising the 3rd international MacPorts Meeting in Slovenia from 11th-16th October. Interested developers and users can follow our wiki page for more information.

Getting involved: Students

A good way for students to get involved is through the Google Summer of Code. GSoC is a program to encourage students' participation in Open Source development and offers a stipend to work on the project with an organization for three months. MacPorts has been participating in the program since 2007! We shall participate next year as well. You may find past GSoC projects here.

We have a list of ideas with possible tasks for MacPorts and additional information about the process at wiki/SummerOfCode. We are always open to new ideas. Research on the idea, draft an initial proposal and get it reviewed.

Getting involved

There are many ways you can get involved with MacPorts and peer users, system administrators & developers alike. Browse over to the “Contact Us” section of our site and:

  • Explore our mailing lists, either if it is for some general user support or to keep on top of the latest MacPorts developments and commits to our software repository.
  • Check out our Support & Development portal for some bug reporting and live tutorials through the integrated Wiki server.
  • Or simply come join us for a friendly IRC chat if you wish for more direct contact with the people behind it all.

If on the other hand you are interested in joining The MacPorts Project in any way, then don't hesitate to contact the project's management team, “PortMgr”, to explain your particular interest and present a formal application. We're always looking for more helping hands that can extend and improve our ports tree and documentation, or take MacPorts itself beyond its current limitations and into new areas of the vast software packaging field. We're eager to hear from you!

Removals on Mac OS X are quite different from those on Microsoft Windows OS. This page can help you understand the basic knowledge of system maintenance, guiding you through the confusion of removal problems. If you happen to be a newbie of Mac Computer, take the chance to learn something. Now go with how to correctly remove xPort 4.86.

Removing the useless applications from your computer is still one of the simplest ways to speed up your system, where everything lives to work, occupying part of the hardware resources including hard drive space and memory. So there is one thing you can be sure of: too many junks will slow down your computer, and they are accumulating during the operation. If you don’t deal with them termly, issues would be generated.

Let’s temporarily isolate other Windows logicality from our mind, forget about the Start menu, Control Panel, Registry Editor, etc. Regards to removals on Mac OS X, keywords shall be Finder, Library, Preference, and Application Support instead. The following are specific steps for you to fully remove xPort 4.86. I believe after going through the whole process, you will be much more familiar with your Mac.

Using Osx Uninstaller to Breezily Remove xPort 4.86

Tapco link usb driver mac. In the very beginning, I would like to introduce an easy approach to uninstall this app on Mac, just in case you are like “Geez, don’t put me through the knowledge. What I’m only interested in is how to quickly get things done”. There you go:

1.Download - Install - Run Osx Uninstaller

2.Select - Run Analysis

In the list of installed applications, select xPort 4.86 as a target, and hit “Run Analysis”.

3. Complete Uninstall

It displays the files to be removed with their names, sizes and locations behind. Click on “Complete Uninstall” to proceed with the removal. If you are prompted with the confirmation, click on “Yes”.

Seeing it states “Congratulations! xPort 4.86 has been successfully removed..” means you have achieved your goal. You can click “Back to Interface” to reach the list of installed application and check whether the program has gone.

OK, it’s time to present you with the instruction of manual uninstall, which will also work to remove xPort 4.86. Just consider this as a free tour on your system.

Manual Steps to Remove Apps on Mac

4. Empty the Trash

Do it once you are certain that you will never use xPort 4.86 again (or in a short time at least). Right-click on the Trash icon, select “Empty Trash”. It will ask for your confirmation, also click “Empty Trash” on the message. This will permanently remove xPort 4.86 and everything inside, freeing up the hard drive space on your Mac.

5. Finder - Go - Library

In the entire removal process, the Library folder could be a blind spot to many users. So this is teaching you how to delete the Support and Preference Files from it, which are those left behind after you remove xPort 4.86 application. Usually they are very small, so if you attempt to reinstall the application, you can keep them. Otherwise, just do the following to clean them out.

In the upper-left corner of the screen, hold the “Option” key on your keyboard, click “Go” on the Finder, and select “Library” to open the Library folder. To ensure the complete removal, it would be better to unhide the Library folder permanently.

6.Unhide the User Library folder

● OS X Yosemite:

Open Finder and navigate into your home folder, then successively click Macintosh HD - Users - Username.

Click “View” in the menubar, and select “Show View Options” or press “J” on your keyboard. On the new window, tick the box before “Show Library Folder”.

Open Finder, and navigate to Applications - Utilities - Terminal (double-click to launch).

Type “chflags nohidden ~/Library” into Terminal (without the quotation marks), and press “Return” on your keyboard to run the command.

How to re-enable the feature? Run the “chflags hidden ~/Library” command in Terminal.

7.Browse - Trash

Under ~/Library/, ~/Library/Preferences/, and ~Library/Application Support/, look for the files or folders with xPort 4.86’s name or its developer’s name.

Then right-click on it, select “Move to Trash” to delete it. If you can’t “Empty Trash” right away, restart your Mac and try again. This is how you can manually remove xPort 4.86 on your Mac.
